The PS3 has a so called common ground for its players called Playstation Home. It’s supposed to be ’Fun’and full of ’Life’and many other things. However this is a completely failed effort and a waste of money. First of all, it ticks me off just to see how cooperate companies stick their brands in the game to earn whatever money they can from it.
For example, Diesel has set a virtual store in the arena where people pay 2 to 3 pounds for Virtual Clothes for their Virtual Players! And people are actually buy them! Ligne Roset has a furniture store where people pay 6 to 7 pounds for Virtual Furniture for their Virtual Homes. It seems ridiculous. PS Home is basically a virtual arena created where PlayStation players meet via avatars. There are shopping areas, for virtual clothes, home and furniture (where they rip you off) as well as entertainment lobbies which for all mercies are free to use. It is a good place to play pool or go bowling with your friends. You can meet people and talk about anything. The good thing is that the people are friendly and willing to talk. It can be fun at times. But besides this, it absolutely ridiculous. There aren’t many users. The load times are slow. The graphics are neat but there is not much you can do for free.
There is carnival sort of arena where you again have to pay stupid amounts to play arcade games in the carnival. If Sony was desperate for money, they could have atleast approached Enigin for solutions but atleast stop charging for silly little things that can make the experience more open to use rather than confined to only those who to pay for ridiculous virtual things
