Something is missing in games these days - stories are great, graphics are great, weapons are plenty-full, character is plentiful - however there is one aspect that we all might have missed out. Realism in characters. There have been amazing voice overs in the past games that compensate for mechanical moving faces - but now there is redemption for that.
LA Noire, a soon to be released detective game is now under way with an extremely intricate face recognition program with camera’s at 360 degrees in all 3 dimensions of the face. The idea is to capture every muscle movement in the face when the character talks. If you see the previews of the games you would see absolutely no difference in the games and the movies. The exciting thing is that now you actually feel like story has your command. It is also accompanied with the multiple story endings which enhances the game experience a 100 times more than the usual achievers (Mass Effect).
The actor of Mad Men who is one of the advert executives under Donald Draper leads the story of the 1960’s corruption ring, your discoveries eventually lead you back to your superiors. The corruption ring of the New York police ran deep in the 60’s and 70’s. There would be no better way to experience LA Noire without the new enhancing technology. This will also set a great platform for RPG games of the future - and I got to tell you, the future looks amazingly bright. Forget self storage to store your old RPG’s the new standards set will blow the gaming industry wide open.
